Occupational Therapy Services
Our occupational therapists, are Registered with the Health and Care
Professions Council (HCPC) and have wide experienced in the assessment
of disability needs, recommendation of appropriate equipment and aids to
daily living, adaptations to the home and care support needs.
Our occupational therapists work with people at home and in the work
place to help them break down the barriers preventing them from
carrying out their day to day activities. We adopt a bio-psychosocial
approach, looking at all aspects of an individual's ability to function.
We consider the physical effects of ageing, injury or disease and we
address the psychological, community and environmental factors that
influence a person's functional ability.
Depending on an individual's situation we will assess the following areas:
- What they can and cannot do physically e.g. strength, coordination and balance
- What they can and cannot do mentally e.g. memory, organisation skills and coping strategies
- What materials they need to participate e.g. assistive technology, furniture, cooking utensils, clothes and computers
- The social and emotional support available in the home, school, work and community
- The environment they are having difficulty in e.g. home, school, work or community
A range of occupational therapy services are provided to business and private clients throughout East Anglia and these include:
- Disability Needs Assessments
- Home visits, assessment for adaptations and equipment
- Advice on workplace, home and environmental adaptations
- Transferable skills assessments
- Work place assessments
- Assessment of need for adaptations and aids in nursing and residential care homes
- Independent occupational therapy assessments and reports for tribunals
- Rehabilitation and treatment of adults and children
